It all began many years ago, when two little boys were each developing their passion for technology and computers.
Gary would spend hours playing with his uncle’s Amstrad 1640 and learning about engineering, soaking up all the knowledge and experience that his uncle (a technician with British Rail) was willing to share. While all the other children were outside playing on their bikes, he’d be indoors taking bits of machinery apart and learning what made them work.
After excelling in Computer Science at college and clearly loving every second, Gary was approached by his lecturer. A local computer company was looking to take on a new member for their growing team and had asked for them to put forward their most promising student. That student turned out to be Gary, and this was his lucky break- and so began a career as a programmer.
Programming was a great way to develop more skills but for us, nothing quite beats the fun of tinkering with hardware and software. Gary learned everything that there was to know about IT and built some strong business relationships along the way. That led to the next stage of the adventure and even bigger opportunities.
A large precision engineering company enlisted Gary to help them respond to technological advances and take their business to a new level. Their success got people talking and soon other companies were asking for support with their own technology and IT strategies; not only engineering and manufacturing companies but a huge range of other businesses.
Word of mouth is a wonderful thing but there are only so many hours in the day, so it was soon time to enlist someone who shared the same passion and knowledge.
Mark had also grown up in Birmingham and had followed the same career path. Equally fascinated by all kinds of technology, he’d spent just as many hours tinkering with computers and taking bits of machinery apart and putting them back together again. It was only a matter of time before a successful new business partnership was born, and the rest, as they say, is history.
