Passwords were created to keep important information secret and safe. Yet countless offices up and down the country are full of Post-it notes with passwords scribbled on them, stuck to computer monitors or left on desks.
If you share your password with other people, you may as well not have one at all.
It’s important that everyone in your business understands that, and chooses passwords which are difficult to guess.
Scarily, these are the most commonly used passwords in the UK:
- password (yes really)
- 123456
- 12345789
- qwerty
- 11111
Data security has never been more important than it is now. Weak or shared passwords leave the business open to all sorts of problems.
What your business needs is a clear password policy that everybody adheres to……..if you haven’t got one then we’d advise you do so!
